Academy Team of the Week - Monday 11th September 2017

By Jay Catton

Following our first full week of the Academy Season our team of the Week has began for the 2017/18 Season.

As always a massive thank you to under 9 coach Craig Griffiths who compiles and produces this each week. An outstanding professional format which is a great incentive for all academy players to strive for each week. Well done to all of our first weeks winners.

Under 8 - Owen Hughes

Was a constant threat and excellent work rate off the ball against TNS scoring 5 and picking up a couple of assists. (James Duff U8 Coach)

Under 9 - Lennon Young

Hat-trick hero against TNS this weekend.(Craig Griffiths U9 Coach)

Under 10 - Kieran Whittingham

Kieran was the 1 stand out in an other wise forgetful visit to TNS on Saturday. Kieran played all 80 mins and gave 110%, making last ditch challenges to prevent almost certain goals on a handful of occasions.(Ben Nash U10 Coach)

Under 11 - Luca Eaton

Luca shown lots of quality on the ball going forward against a physical TNS side, With this he earned himself a hatrick scoring 3 fantastic goals (Jordan Parry U11 Coach)

Under 12s - Louis O'Carroll

Came off the bench to score a second half hat-trick.
Tremendous work rate off the ball and always a threat going forward. (Leighton Sumner U12 Coach)

Under 13 - Leon Bennett

Leon trained brilliantly on Thursday, and followed that up with a man of the match display on Friday. Playing in the middle of a back 3, Leon has grown to understand his role in that position and will hopefully continue his good run of form in the coming weeks.(Ben Nash U13 Coach)

Under 14 Liam Moss

Scored 5 goals after coming on as sub, made a huge impact on the right (Dale Johnson U14 Coach)

Under 15 - Oliver Cubbin

Solid and confident performance from Centre back. (Mark Rowlands U15 Coach)

Under 16 - Lewis Yeates

Worked tirelessly in midfield and dominated the Flint midfield. Excellent energy levels to press constantly and broke up play multiple times.(Iain Bennett U16 Coach)

Under 18 - Sam Reynolds

As solid going forward as he was at the back. Rarely beaten by his man and a great threat going forward at full back. (Lee Woodward U18 Coach)

Under 19 - Liam Bruford

Top energy and drive. Continuing a great run of form at right back. (Daniel Reece U19 Coach)
