Welsh Cup Bank Holiday Weekend Details for First Team, U12s, U14s and U16s National Finals!

By Jay Catton

In a huge two days for the football club, all academy players are attending the first team game this coming Sunday at Newtown.

A historic achievement already will see all four of our sides play in National Finals this May bank holiday weekend. An accolade never been achieved by any other club in Wales to date.

The action kicks off this Sunday as our first team face Aberystwyth in the first Welsh Cup Final the club has made in twenty years.

A historical event and one which we expect 100% attendance from all players and parents within the academy, in support of the first team of the football club.

U8s -U11s Welsh Cup Final Details

Our under 8s, 9s, 10s and 11s will be playing Aberystwyth academy in friendly games prior to first team game for 12:15 kick offs on the Newtown stadium pitch.

The FAW have arranged the format and referees for these four friendly fixtures.

Players are asked to arrive at the stadium for no later than 11:45 in full training kit including Nomads red and white socks, black Nomads shorts and red Nomads training T shirts. Players are also asked to bring their red Nomads jumper and black training pants to change into following these fixtures.

Venue for Newtown and the Welsh Cup is as follows:

Latham Park, Newtown SY16 1EN

Following the games finishing at 13:15 all Nomads mini players will be provided lunch at Newtown AFC, which will be provided and paid for by Connah's Quay Nomads Football Club.

Our under 8 and 9 sides will then walk out and be flag bearers for the fixture with the first team players, in front of the live Sgorio S4C cameras.

U13s, U15s, U18s and U19s Welsh Cup Final Details

Our under 13s, 15s, 18s and 19s sides will be traveling to the game via coach which has been organised to leave The Quay 3G and Clubhouse for 11:45.

U12s, U14s and U16s Welsh Cup Final Details

A fantastic two days for our academy cup sides will see them watch the first team game on Sunday and then take part in their own Welsh Cup Academy Cup Finals on Monday.

All three sides have organised hotel accommodation in and around Newtown to allow them to stay in the town after the first team game and in preparation for their Bank Holiday Monday finals which is fantastic and a great show of commitment and club support from all parents concerned.

Players are asked to arrive at Newtown for the Welsh Cup Final no later than 14:15 with the game kicking off at 14:45.

U8-U19 Welsh Cup Final Attire and Flags

All academy players will gain free entry for the fixture but will only gain this on the turnstile if they are in the following attire:

Red Nomads T shirt or Training Jumper with black Nomads training shorts for pants.

Parents will be charged the adult rate on the gate of only £8 which can be paid at the turnstile, to watch such a massive and historical event fort all involved.

Connah's Quay Nomads have purchased club flags also for all academy players in attendance, which will be given out at Newtown for all attending players.

To create as much support and atmosphere for the first team all the academy players with coaches are asked to watch the fixture each half behind the goal the first team are attacking.

Parents are encouraged if they wish also and to wear red where possible to also show their full support.

A fantastic day for everyone at the club to enjoy and be involved in. The crowd is expected to be around 1000, with the game being shown live on the S4C Sgorio cameras (recommend all attending to record with the chance to see academy players on TV) and in attendance is also new Wales First Team Manager and ex Manchester United player Ryan Giggs, which adds even more to the occasion.

We look forward to seeing all of the club together in full support and showing our one club ethos we are so proud of at Connah's Quay Nomads Football Club.
