Nomads impress at Rhyl.
By Ben Nash
Nomads continue winning form at Rhyl.
Nomads started well and took their recent good performances into the game, passing the ball very well and adapting to the grass surface.
10 minutes in and Nomads took the lead, fine work from Cronshaw down the right side culminated with a cross which Trialist calmly slotted past the keeper to make it 1-0.
Nomads were playing okay after the first quarter, however were forcing to many passes long instead of working the ball through midfield and into wide areas.
The introduction of the inform Hughes at the start of the second quarter proved important,
Hughes chasing down a lost cause to tackle the defender and give the ball to Evans who made it 2-0.
Nomads were now playing with a real purpose to them and scored their best goal of the game on 26 minutes. Whittingham had the ball at right back, carried it 15 yards only to turn back and play back to Jones in the Nomads goal, On 1 touch the Nomads goalkeeper switched the ball to Charlie Jones at left back, who took 1 touch to control then played a 20 yard pass into the path of the advancing Williams, Williams stood his man up, beat him with a good bit of skill and unselfishly squared the ball to Hughes who only needed 1 touch to put the ball into the top corner.
At the half way point the score was 3-1 Nomads.
The game continued in this manner, Nomads dominating possession and creating lots of chances, Whittingham and Jones were comfortable at the back and were joining in attacks whenever they got chance.
Cronshaw scored a brilliant 4th after Hughes set the ball off, Cronshaw ran with the ball for 15 yards before firing hard and low into the bottom left corner.
The game finished 6-2 with Nomads scoring a couple more and Rhyl getting a late consolation.
Very pleasing performance from a individual and team aspect.
Man of the match was close, could of gone to 3/4 players however Cronshaw just nicked it.
A masterful display on the ball, beating players with his right and left foot even on a bobbly pitch. Creating and scoring a brilliant goal.
