Nomads hosted a 3 team festival including Bangor, Caernarfon and Nomads themselves on a lovely Saturday morning at the 3G.
The format was Nomads vs Bangor for 2 15 minute halves, directly followed by Nomads vs Caernarfon for 2 15 minute halves.
Bangor got off to a good start vs Nomads, scoring in the 8th minute after a defensive mix up at the back.
Nomads starting to up the tempo when McQue came on in the second half, a lot of Nomads good work coming through him, receiving the ball on the half turn and playing forward on a number of occasions.
Williams was on the right wing looking very dangerous on the ball, beating the full back and putting a couple brilliant balls in.
On 20 minutes the goal eventually came when McQue went on a run through the heart of the Bangor defence, beating 2/3 players and then unselfishly squaring to Trialist who notched the ball in to make it 1-1.
Nomads pushed for a winner but couldn't find it and the game finished 1-1.
Nomads went straight into their game vs Caernarfon, again going 1-0 down early to a goal against the run of play, Caernarfon catching Nomads on the break and their striker finishing well into the corner.
Over the next 24 minutes Nomads played some outstanding football, Guy Mercer getting a foot hold on the game in the middle, with Cronshaw and Jones keeping us safe at the back.
The first goal came in spectacular fashion, after a string of really good saves from the Bangor keeper, Cook disposessed a Bangor player and smashed a brilliant goal into the back of the net to give the keeper no chance from 20 yards out.
Nomads were now well on top and looking for a winning goal, with 4 minutes left they got the goal their good play deserved, a Ben Williams shot made its way to the back post where McQue got his deserved goal and a winning goal for Nomads.
Man of the match was Ellis McQue, really positive performance both in CAM and on the RW, not being afraid to go looking for the ball and always trying to go forward and take players on.
Well done Ellis.
