Nomads open Academy cup account against Rhyl with a win.
Nomads travelled to Rhyl in their first academy cup of the season. The lads have trained very well in the last few weeks and started strongly, Will Austin putting the lads ahead inside 5 minutes. The goals flowed during the first half but Nomads were quite slow and sloppy in possession. The second half followed a similar pattern with wave after wave of Nomads attacks, however the tempo of the passing was a lot quicker and the movement from the front 4 was a lot better. Nomads scored some brilliant team goals in the second half and opened their academy cup campaign with a solid win, however they’ve got much tougher tests to come. Man of the match was Will Austin, a tireless display at right back, even pitching in with a goal! Honourable mention is Alfie Vaughan, who just missed out despite 4 goals against his old club.
