JEBB STRIKE EARNS DRAW AGAINST JUNCTION

By Conwy Admin

An Eddie Jebb equaliser earns Conwy Borough a draw against Llandudno Junction.

Conwy Borough had to field a makeshift defence against a Llandudno Junction side who were determined and clearly up for the game. After suffering a number of injuries in the midweek encouter at Ashville, Conwy manager Chris Herbert was forced into selecting Craig Griffiths and Joe Williams as emergency centre halfs with Sharples, Miley and Keegan all injured or absent. The squad was called in early for a training session and it could be put down to those factors that the team appeared slightly jaded and off the pace while Junction started brightly and had the better of the chances. So it was no more than they deserved when their centre forward nipped in to finish past Kasbarian to put Junction 1-0 up.

For all of Conwys possession there wasnt a great deal of threat and the better chances fell to Junction who were capitalising on some confusion in Conwys defence. However, it was winger Eddie Jebb who struck back for Borough as he cut inside the area and fired off a shot that the keeper got his hand to but could only push into the roof of the net for 1-1.

A number of changes were made in the second half and Conwy started much brighter, moving the ball around much quicker. Chances fell to both sides with Conwy dominating possession but in the end a draw was a fair result.

Conwy will now look ahead to the visit of Bangor City on Tuesday night at Y Morfa (ko 7.30pm).
