Corsham back in tune, punish Purton

Banishing all memories of last week’s discordant performance Corsham returned to their pre-Christmas form to down winless Purton team. The mystery to me is that Purton remains winless, they certainly turned up the heat in the second half winning the period 23-19…
Just as well their star shooter wasn’t available from the start… The point being that even if Purton started as they finished this correspondent believes Corsham would have upped their level and won anyway.

There were periods in the game where Purton came on strong and, briefly, threatened a comeback, Corsham never blinked, and in boxing parlance, simply flicked out their jab and fended the opponent off. An accomplished and professional job.

Congratulations to Jaz and Millie came on for the second half and really looked the part.

Next up Burmah “B”. Now we have passed the halfway point of the season you get the opportunity to see whether the team has progressed since the first meeting. Last time out Corsham suffered a 52-43 reverse, now Corsham lies 5th and Burmah 6th with just one point separating them. All the ingredients are present that constitute the recipe for an absolute classic.

Correspondents’ player; Louise Blackman, boundless energy and a smiley face that camouflages an inexhaustible will to win.

Purton player; Alice Wilson, again, no argument here. Alice is turning into a kind of Netballing Swiss Army Knife, solid, dependable in any position on the court.

Challenge of the week. As the much-missed legendary owner of the Oakland Raiders, Al Davis once said, “JUST WIN BABY”.
