Reserves win on drenched night at Prestatyn

By

Prestatyn Reserves 0 - 1 Denbigh Town Reserves

On a wet and windy evening at the Motion Finance Stadium in Prestatyn , Denbigh Town Reserves can out worthy winners thanks to a 70th minute goal from Andy Thomas.

Both teams enjoyed an even first half with Lewis Jenner, Andy Thomas and Rhys Cooper coming close, whereas at the other end Gethin Williams kept safe hands to thwart the Prestatyn attack. The Denbigh central defenders Graham Owen and Jacob Parry have formed a tight partnership over the last few weeks and kept the forays on Williams' goal to a minimum

The second half started with the rain lashing down and together with a strong wind made conditions difficult. Yet the Reserves persevered and from a Rhys Cooper corner, Andy Thomas was unmarked in the six yard box to head home.

The Town continue to pressure and long range shots from both Jacob Parry and Lewis Jenner hit the bar to stop the youngsters extending the lead.

As the game progressed tackles came flying in and on 87 minutes Prestatyn were reduced to 10 men when Gwion Bibby was cynically brought down from behind by Aaron Barber and referee Gray showed Barber a straight red card

Denbigh were able to play the game out and come home with the three points
