Porthmadog Reserves 0 - 0 Denbigh Town Reserves

Denbigh Town Reserves travelled to face league leaders Porthmadog on a wild and blustery Friday evening and came home with a well earned point.

Prior to the game the Porthmadog team had a 100% win record in the League and stood nine points ahead of second placed Denbigh. However it was the Denbigh team which played the better football on the night and could have quite easily come away with all three points.

The team were without the unavailable Graham Owen. Stuart Vernon had been called up to the first team and so Dan Lloyd started as he was cup tied for the first team game. Stu Griffiths was in goal and had a quiet evening as his defenders kept the Porthmadog attack at bay.

The first half saw Denbigh have the better possession and Andy Thomas went close to opening the scoring but his shot went wide. The second half saw Port come into the game more, but it was Denbigh who had the better chances but they could not capitalise on them.

Coach Johnny Roberts said after the game " The lads played so well and we had chances which we did'nt put away. We're so pleased with how the team played and the football we played at times was first class".
