Watching Dronfield today could be compared to waiting for a bus with no score for 35 minutes then 2 tries come at once and just in time to grab the winning bonus point!
Dronfield welcomed Lincoln to Gosforth Fields in this Midlands 2 East (North) encounter. Dronfield were looking for the win to keep their promotion ambitions alive and also to avenge the 34-17 loss in the reverse fixture.
A feisty start saw a yellow card for the Lincoln number 8 on 2 minutes.
Dronfield's scrum was strong in the early encounters though and would be throughout the match setting a strong platform.

HALF TIME 15-10
Dronfield slotted a quick penalty on 2 minutes with Joe Farrell bringing the score to 18-10 from the halfway line.
For the next 35 minutes Dronfield frustrated their supporters and themselves as time and again they built scoring opportunities only to fall short late in the move after silly offloads or dropped balls. Lincoln sensed hope and continued to be dangerous.
In the last 3 minutes Dronfield's persistence paid off. First came a quick break from scrum half Jake Steade which caught Lincoln out and he put through centre AJ Hills for the third try. 25-10
Dronfield scored the bonus point try with what must be a contender for try of the season. Breaking from the back where Joe Farrell pounced on a loose ball inches from our try line and regained his feet to get Dronfield moving, then offloading to AJ, on to Mikey, Sam, Chris H, Wayne, Andy, Alex Arch and Jon. After the ruck was set, quick scrum half work from tighthead Mike found Alex again who found Matt and then Luke who ran the ball in the opposite corner with style, beating three would be defenders in the process.
There were great passes, running and power by backs and forwards, keeping the ball alive and moving forward with Luke taking the glory for the key try.
FINAL SCORE 10-25
