A mostly experimental Garforth side containing many trial players and young fringe players came a bit of a cropper against a strong Liversedge side at Cedar Ridge. It was backs against the wall after just 3 minutes when an unnecessary and rash challenge inside the box by Garforth trial player Emmanuel Efezokhae gifted Liversedge a penalty and a resulting 1-0 lead. Things looked to be picking up when 17 year old Joel Cartledge latched on to a Justin Asare through ball to beat the keeper from the edge of the box and make the score 1-1. Once Liversedge retook the lead on 18 minutes though the game increasingly pulled away from Garforth and things looked grim at half time with Garforth being 5-1 down. Positives from the game were that the Garforth youngsters put in a much improved second half performance and were a bit unfortunate to lose that half 2-0, the fact that clinical finishing by Liversedge (much of what they hit went in) contributed to the scoreline and the excellent form of Garforth's 17 year old centre half Wesley Gibrill-Keating .
