Match Report

By

Teversal

Prims travelled to Teversal without the suspended Kevin Morrow and Jordan Kelly. Both teams met 10 days ago in the cup game where Prims went through winning the tie on penalties three nil. The travelling Prims support was hoping for a better game and more goals from the cup match, but unfortunately it was hope that they all had as this was not a thrilling encounter.
The first half Prims were slightly the better of two the teams,, as neither could put many passes together and neither troubled either keeper. It wasn’t until the latter minutes of the half when Prims Fitzhugh hit a free kick over and Ollie Ball had a header saved by Briggs in the Teversal goal. In the last few minutes of the half Andy Fretwell made his first save when tipping over a fierce shot.

Half time 0-0

The second half was very much the same but Prims were creating more chances, with Fitzhugh going narrowly wide, Gwinnutt hitting over the bar from twelve yards and Harris was unable to finish when put clean through. The game changed after sixty two minutes when Matt Harris worked his way into the Teversal penalty area when a defender clipped his heel, Harris played on and his shot was deflected to what everyone thought was a corner, however the referee pulled the play back and awarded a penalty to Prims.
Michael Fitzhugh stepped up and scored sending Briggs the wrong way.
Teversal thought they had equalised ten minutes later with the best move of the game but the linesman flag went up for offside as soon as the forward headed the ball.

Prims came away with the three points not playing at their best.

Final score Teversal 0 Prims 1
