Goalless but it's 17 unbeaten for The Gingerbreads

By Simon Hayes

Adam Stevens was without Felipe Barcelos and Luther Wildin for tonight's match against Matlock Town.

Danny Meadows was named on the bench, along with 3 Academy players Tom Curtis, Kevin Da Silva Bastos and Liam Quinn.

The first half saw two very evenly match sides with few clear cut chances for either side.

The second was much more open and The Gingerbreads saw Lee Shaw put the ball in the net but the Referees Assistant's flag was already up for offside. Jeremiah Dasalou was finding space and saw a number of chances go agonisingly close.

Matlock had a late free kick that could've been dangerous but The Gingerbreads wall stood firm and it went out for a corner.

The match ended without a goal but it means The Gingerbreads are now 17 matches unbeaten and stay 5th.

We're checking the history books to see if this is the longest unbeaten run in a season for any Grantham side.
