The Gingerbreads thought they rescued a point tonight at Ashton United when Curtis Burrows made it 3-3 in the 91st minute, but it wasn't to be.
Manager Adam Stevens made two changes to the starting line up that beat Stafford Rangers on Saturday, with Stefan Galinski returning from suspension and Lee Shaw taking Ben Saunders place.
It was The Gingerbreads who opened the scoring on 15 minutes. Curtis Burrows put in a corner and Rhys Lewis crashed home, 1-0. Ashton equalised on 34 minutes with a good solo effort.
Felipe Barcelos put The Gingerbreads back in front 2 minutes into the second halg when he got on the end of an Ellis Storey cross. However Ashton were on top and got an equaliser on 63 minutes.
With 15 minutes to it was Ashton who then pulled in front when Lee Knight, on loan from Oldham Athletic, from appeared to be a deflected shot.
The Gingerbreads weren't done and a minute into 3 additional minutes Curtis Burrows got the equaliser they were searching for. But it was heartbreak for The Gingerbreads as the final seconds of the match drew close Ashton United got the winner, when Richard Smith headed home.
