On a very wet and windy night at The Meres, The Gingerbreads couldn't hold on to a lead and take a point against high flying Spennymoor.
The Moors, who won last Tuesday 7-0 against Skelmersdale and reached the FA Cup first round on Saturday, started strongly and brought many blocked challenges and saves from The Gingerbreads defence.
Stefan Galinski twice cleared off the line in the opening half hour, but The Gingerbreads weathered the storm and it was them who took the lead. Luther Wildin attacked down the right and gave the ball to Lee Shaw. Shaw's shot rebounded into Wildin's path and he fired home.
The Gingerbreads held on to halftime. Again though it was Spennymoor who started the half brightly but it was The Gingerbreads who scored again. Felipe Barcelos chased down a short back pass and was able to take it round the Spennymoor goal keeper and walk the ball into the net to make it 2-0.
Spennymoor continued to play how they had been and were creating chances, but The Gingerbreads defence stood firm. With the amount of chances and changes they made, it was look inevitable that they would pull one back and they did through Mark Anderson.
However, The Gingerbreads were still going and were putting the Spennymoor defence under pressure still. Again it was The Gingerbreads who were to score next, Lee Shaw was able to break away and fired the ball home to make it, 3-1.
This wasn't the end of the night, with both sets of fans urging their sides on it was Spennymoor who were soon level. First they win a penalty and two minutes later break through The Gingerbreads defence to level, 3-3.
The Gingerbreads, Man of the Match chosen by the night's Match Sponsor Streets Accountants, was Lee Shaw
