Get Behind The Gingerbreads This Weekend

By Callum Boyle

Grantham manager Adam Stevens has called for his fans to "Get behind the team" when they host Stourbridge on Saturday.

The Gingerbreads dropped to 3rd in the table after Tuesday night's 1-1 draw away to Barwell where Jordan Hempenstall's opener was cancelled out by a Barwell equaliser.

Grantham are now unbeaten in five games in all competitions, last losing at home to Buxton in December and trail league leaders Altrincham by nine points.

West Midlands outfit Stourbridge have had a mixed season lying in 12th place and currently with two wins from their last five. The away side also played on Tuesday night, suffering a 1-0 defeat away to Ashton United.

The two sides have already met once this season, with the Gingerbreads emerging as victors away from home, with a 2-0 win thanks to a Lee Shaw brace.

Adam Stevens has been impressed with his side this season and has called upon the fans to be the 12th man at the Meres: "The lads have played really well so far this season but the hard work is not over."
"It's always beneficial to have great support from the fans like we have had all season, and all I can ask from them is to continue to get behind the side this weekend in what will be another tough game. With their support and the quality I know we have, I am confident we can get the three points."

Tom Batchelor and Luke Shaw are the only absentees for Saturday, otherwise Stevens has a full side to select from.
