Stalybridge Visit Gingerbreads

By Callum Boyle

Fans will be hoping to see another win at home on Saturday as 20th placed Stalybridge Celtic come to the Meres.

The Gingerbreads will be looking to achieve three wins in their last four home games following on from two wins and one defeat in the previous three home games. Continuing their recent resurgence in form, Grantham produced a brilliant all-round performance to take three points away at Coalville on Tuesday night in a 3-1 win.

The result was enough to move Grantham five places up the league into 7th place and move to within two points of 5th placed Stourbridge who currently have two games in hand on Grantham.

Stalybridge continued their miserable form on the road this season with a 3-1 defeat away to Marine on Tuesday night, leaving them as the only side not to pick up a point away from home this season.

Form for the away side however has not been too bad of late with Celtic picking up three wins in their last five games, placing them in 20th place and only four points ahead of bottom of the table, Sutton Coldfield.

Manager Adam Stevens was impressed with the performance and wants to see his side continue to perform on Saturday: "Tuesday was excellent to watch as a manager and we played to our abilities which is exciting football. It is important on Saturday that we continue this and make sure that we play to all of our strengths and get the three points."

There is no new team news to report with everybody fit to play.
