A superb team performance from the reserves saw them topple the previously unbeaten league leaders 2-1. The game didn't start as planned and we went 1-0 down in the first 5 minutes from a well worked Ruthin goal and they showed signs of their recent form.
The reserves team has finally started to bond in the last couple of weeks and we are showing signs of the potential we knew they were capable of.
Following the goal we steadily got back into the game and created a number of good attacks but couldn't find the final ball to really trouble Ruthin.
We came out after half time confident we would still win the game and Cavan Daley got the goal we needed on 48 minutes. The equaliser was fully deserved and we moved up a gear again.
Hugh Jones got the winner on 70 minutes with a fine strike from the edge of the box. We held on for the victory in a tense final 15 minutes.
Fantastic win against a quality side. Daz Jones was mom with another superb performance. Tom and Will gave us the width we needed and caused problems throughout the game . Taylor was his usual self giving some great options amd working hard up front.
Another huge test next week a we travel to Cefn Druids.
