Winner of National Volunteer of the Year

By Samantha Shirley

He never fails to impress us!

On Saturday it was the England Rugby Volunteer Awards. Up for an award was our wonderful Desh.

Of he went, taking his lovely dad with him, meeting people and enjoying the great privilege of listening to a talk from Eddie Jones himself. Then the time came to get spruced up and they headed to the evening event for the awards. After a what felt like an eternity for us, patiently looking at our phones every few mins Desh finally broke the news....he had won!!!!!!!!

We are so proud of Deshaun Elliott. From such a young age he has always been a great asset to this club. In recent years he has been an integral part to growing rugby for the girls in our club and the area. He is always the first one to raise a hand when help is needed and is always such a happy and positive person to be around.

Well done Deshy baby on winning National Volunteer of the Year....we can't think of anyone more deserving!
