HAVERHILL ROVERS FC WINS THE PRESTIGIOUS FA CHARTER STANDARD COMMUNITY CLUB OF THE YEAR AWARD 2017

By Barbara Jones

The Club is delighted and proud to announce to everybody it's fantastic news, that it has received this impressive and respected award for 2017.

CONGRATULATIONS AND WELL DONE TO EVERBODY INVOLVED WITH HAVERHILL ROVERS F C, Managers, Coaches. Admin, the Committee, Volunteers, Supporters and Players and all the staff at HCSA that have worked extremely hard this season to enable us to achieve and be named FA CHARTER STANDARD COMMUNITY CLUB OF THE YEAR 2017

Haverhill Rovers F C follows a club development plan that covers a host of different things including participation, coach education, volunteering, marketing, communications and facilities.

All the above is overseen by the HCSA and Suffolk FA and delivered by the hard working Haverhill Rovers Committee, volunteers, club managers, coaches and players.

Launched in 2001, The FA Charter Standard Programme supported by McDonald’s is The FA’s accreditation scheme for grassroots clubs and leagues.

Its goal is to raise standards in grassroots football, support the development of clubs and leagues, recognising and rewarding them for their commitment and achievements.

With this in mind, The FA Charter Standard accreditation is awarded to clubs and leagues rigorously adjudged to be well-run and sustainable – and which prioritise child protection, quality coaching and implementation of the Respect programme.

There are three levels of FA Charter Standard Awards for clubs:

  • FA Charter Standard Club for youth and adult clubs: the entry-level accreditation
  • FA Charter Standard Development Club: for clubs clearly enhancing the quality and scope of their football offering
  • FA Charter Standard Community Club: acknowledging the most advanced level of club development and football provision.

For clubs who have FA Charter Standard accreditation, the challenge is to progress to the next level or to maintain that level. For clubs without FA Charter Standard status, the scheme provides aspirational points on its development journey.

HAVERHILL ROVERS FC HAS NOT ONLY MAINTAINED THEIR FA CHARTER STANDARD COMMUNITY CLUB STATUS, BUT IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE IT HAS BEEN AWARDED THE FA CHARTER STANDARD COMMUNITY CLUB OF THE YEAR 2017.

The Awards Night which is taking place at Trinity Park on Friday, 23 June, when former Ipswich Town midfielder and ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’ star Jimmy Bullard will be the Guest Speaker.

Visit the Suffolk F A website for it's own press release.
