Haverhill were slow out of the blocks and were punished for it after 8 minutes, Kieran Joseph’s strong run left of goal taking him into the area past three opponents before his low cross was converted at the back post by Liam Brown.
Ten minutes later an error by home goalkeeper George Parkin was seized upon by the away side, away ‘keeper Charlie Turner’s big kick putting pressure on Parkin, who fumbled the ball and allowed Danny Hill to regain possession and put the ball across for Ben Bradley to net past a defender on the line.
The second half, much like the first, was a fairly even affair, Hill firing inches away from the target, Bradley having a deflected effort cleared off the line and Jonny Milne firing over when it seemed easier to score in the best chances for Haverhill, a good save from Turner denying Joseph at the near left post in the hosts’ best chance before the final whistle.
ROVERS : Turner, Halls, Burr, Elkins, Holmes, Geoghegan, Weaver (Stevenson, 65), Milne, Hill (Boddey, 75), Latham (Jebb, 75), Bradley.
