A great save from away ‘keeper Charlie Turner denied Hayden a second with his head.
Four minutes after half time Histon broke through again, Evan Key rising highest to meet a corner from the left, which hit defender Jemel Fox in the line but he had no time to react and divert the ball anywhere but in to the net.
The game was as good as over in the 67th minute when the home side grabbed a third goal, Tommy Wright connecting to a low cross from the left, his side foot in his stride from six yards out sending Turner the wrong way as it found the near left corner.
There was hope for Haverhill as they netted themselves with ten minutes to go, Fox’s throw giving Bradley a chance to hold off his marker before cutting it back to Jebb, whose 15 yard shot flew towards Knight and, with it swerving to his right, gave him no chance of making a save.
