This lead lasted for a long time, the game coming to life in the last half hour with chances becoming more frequent, although it wasn’t until near the end that goalkeepers were fully troubled.
With 80 minutes gone some calm build up the hosts ended with Mitchell Burr playing in Jonathan Milne, goalkeeper Taurean Molloy denying him, Joel Watts teeing up Jackson Ramm two minutes later and his 20 yard side foot shot through a crowd was parried by ‘keeper Charlie Turner.
Haverhill then went down to ten men with a stroke of bad luck as Harry Halls, a 74th minute substitute and the last his side could make, went down with a recurrence of a hamstring injury in the build up to Ramm’s effort and was unable to continue.
The additional man paid dividends for Gorleston a minute into added time, a free kick at the left corner of the penalty area besides the bye line being cleared, the ball being played back in from the other corner on the side of goal for Kyle Ingram to chest into his path and put a deflected shot past a rooted Turner.
ROVERS : Turner, Carroll, Fox, Milne, Camfield, Holmes, Abbott, Bradley (Halls, 74), Palmer (Clarke, 60), Haines (Shulver, 65), Burr. Subs not used – Tait, Micklewright.
