Haverhill Rovers v Walsham Le Willows

By

Haverhill's season ended on a sour note as they were on the worse share of three first half goals against Walsham.

The hosts led after 4 minutes when Ben Robinson put a low cross in across the six yard box and, with no-one near the initial cross, Luke Parkinson popped up at the back post to tap the ball into the net.

The lead lasted until the 28th minute, a Walsham cross not being fully cleared and Trevor Newman put the ball back in the from the left and Nathan Clarke's looping header found the far bottom left corner of the net, Stuart Kingham being unable to stop the ball on the goal line.

What as the winner came on the stroke of half time, a great save from home goalkeeper Jamie Greygoose putting the ball behind for a corner, Greygoose unable to keep out Andrew Wood's header from the resulting kick.

Haverhill were unlucky not to equalise, Dan Cornwell's shot on the turn from Robinson's cross being blocked by away 'keeper Duncan McAnally in what may have been more luck than judgement.
