Illingworth bounced back from the disappointment of their Parish Cup defeat at Booth with a big win at leaders Great Horton PC and in the process jump into the top spot.

Electing to bat first, the North Halifax side made steady progress after losing James Lawton early on. Held together by a strong performance from opener Callum Cook (106), whose century included 17 fours and a six, contributions came from all of the Illingworth batters, as the home side's attack wilted in the heat. The visitors added 98 runs in the last ten overs, largely thanks to Luke Brooksby who plundered an unbeaten 50 in just 28 balls to complete a formidable total of 313.

The home side looked to be in little trouble as they made a solid start at 29-1 and there was little indication of the collapse to follow. Luke Brooksby added his second with the last ball of his fourth over. Jamie Moorhouse, his fellow opener, started his account with two wickets off the next two balls, narrowly missing his hat trick, before clean bowling Brown to make it three from four balls and four wickets from seven deliveries.

There was little respite for the league leaders as things only got worse with Brooksby adding two more to finish on 4-22. Moorhouse added another to make it 5 for 14 off just six overs and Ben Clarke wrapped up the innings in just the 13th over to complete the collapse of nine wickets falling for just seven runs and a deficit of 277 runs in a day the Bradford side will want to forget.
