Tough loss

This was always going to be a tough game for Ipswich, as they travelled to a Wimbledon side packed with International talent and sure enough the Suffolk side had a day to forget.
Ironically Ipswich started the match well, finding space and denying their hosts time on the ball. However when Wimbledon opened the scoring on the 15th minute the match quickly turned in their favour and at half time Ipswich were 3-0 down.
The second half saw a similar pattern and Ipswich were indebted to their GK Ali Barham who made some great saves. Despite Barham’s heroics Wimbledon extended their lead with 3 quick goals.
Ipswich finally steadied the ship and some great play and running by Player of the match Sarah Daley saw Ipswich win a series of Penalty Corners. Wimbledon though defended well and with time running out scored 2 more goals to leave Ipswich reflecting on a hard defeat.
