Blues brought home all three points from the long trip to Cambridgeshire with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Peterborough Sports.
Manager Neil Baker went for the same starting eleven as at Chasetown with Scott Lycett not fit enough to start the game and on the bench.
Good football was not easy on a difficult, bobbly surface and things looked bleak after 13 minutes when a free-kick from the right was played in and turned in low by Oliver Medwynter.
Town were nearly straight back on terms when Rob Stevenson saw his low shot across goal hit the inside of the post and bounce out. Tim Grice got to the rebound but his shot was blocked and deflected for a corner.
When the corner came in Niall Maguire got a firm header on target but a defender cleared off the line with Dan George in the Sports goal beaten.
Play switched to the other end and Ben Chapman was out well to make a block to deny Mark Jones.
The equaliser came in the 38th minute when Stevenson's persistence brought him a goal at the third attempt.
As he chased down a ball, George came out to challenge him on the edge of the box and Stevenson found himself on the floor with the ball under his legs.
He got up and saw his shot blocked on the line and then managed to net the rebound.
Blues pushed for a goal early in the second half and Grice had a shot blocked by a last ditch dive by a defender.
However, the lead did come in the 56th minute thanks to an exquisite piece of play from Liam Davies which had more than a touch of Dennis Bergkamp about it,
Dan Trickett-Smith played a low ball into the box which Davies (pictured, above) controlled and turned in one movement to beat his man and give himself the space to fire low past George into the far corner.
The Turbines upped their game and pushed hard for an equaliser in the last half hour.
On 63 minutes Chapman beat away a fierce drive and five minutes later a great chance for Sports Sub Avelino Vieira was headed wide.
Despite intense pressure, resolute defending from the Blues defence limited the home sides opportunities and Town held on for an excellent win.
