Programme 2018
Mike is still asking for replies re. availability so that he can respond to organisers. He’d also particularly appreciate immediate responses re.Monday afternoon, 7th May at Scorton and Tuesday afternoon, 17th May at Leyland Methodist TOTS group. Dates of when you’re likely to be away on holiday would also be a big help.
New in is an invitation to the After School Club at Walton le Dale Primary School,
4 pm onwards on Monday, 23rd April. Again, immediate replies from you all are needed.

‘Lancashire Wakes’
Copies of the Spring 2018 issue are still available from RS. Cost: £1 each.

Odds & Ends
1. We wish a safe journey to Hans & Kath van Dijk as they head off to New Zealand this month on the first part of a round-the-world trip, returning in May via Honolulu and Canada.
2. Sorry to learn of the death of Ken Dodd last week, one of the many celebrities LMM have encountered over the years. It was a delight to meet him. As a celebrity at a charity event he surely ranked alongside Tom Finney as a most amenable person - which is quite something.
3. Reminder to take a look at Dave Rowland’s handiwork with the website.
4. Notable dates: tomorrow’s the Vernal Equinox and St Cuthbert’s Day; Saturday is the Varsity Boat Race; Sunday is Palm Sunday, Lady Day and the start of British Summer Time. The following week there’s Maundy Thursday; followed by Good Friday; Easter (or Holy) Saturday – which is also the first day of Pesach – and Easter Day (which is April Fools’ Day too). Easter Monday follows on 2nd April. It’s World Health Day on Saturday, 7th (and the anniversary of Wordsworth’s birthday in 1770) and Sunday 8th is Low Sunday.
