Lightcliffe under 11's through to Mondays Cup Final

Collinson Cup Final beckons

A comfortable semi final win against Stones on Saturday morning sees Lightcliffe u11's play against either Blackley or Copley in Mondays cup final. A quick fire 50 opening stand between Ben Horne and Finn Brookes (both retiring on 25) saw the side begin very brightly. George Leach, who hit two sixes from the first two deliveries that he faced, also retired on 25 and combined with useful contributions all the way down the order the side post a very sizeable total.

Two early wickets for George Leach - removing their two main batsmen quickly - saw that the team weren't going to be challenged by Stones. Wickets were shared around between all of the bowlers and the game was secure. Again some excellent catching and fielding put pressure onto the opposition from the off and a repeat of this performance would be welcome again on Monday.
