United suffered their first home defeat of the season in a game that had they won would have taken them to the top of the league. The Pikes went on to register their first win of the season in what was a battling encounter at Ashby Avenue.
After both sides found the net with efforts that were ruled out for offside Pickering opened the scoring mid-way through the first half with a controversial penalty when, yet another offside flag was this time surprisingly overruled. After consulting with his assistant, the referee stuck to his penalty decision and Blott confidently stroked home the spot kick.
Logan made it 2-0 after the break with a deflected shot but the Whites set up a grandstand finish when Rob Norris fired home. Subs Tom Garrick and Liam Dickens helped United at last find some cohesion and Paul Grimes could have equalised with a great chance but failed to make contact with a near-post header. Pickering Town held firm and came away with the three points.
