LATE STRIKE SECURES VITAL POINT

By

The winter rain has certainly taken it's toll on Bedworth's pitch and made it hard work for both sides on a day when the result was much more important than the performance.

Neither side came to terms with the conditions but United will be pleased with the point after two heavy defeats against Coalville and Belper Town.

The Whites' preparation was hampered by injury and then two players got injured in the warm-up before we had even kicked a ball.

Disappointment came as we conceded right on half-time.

However, what followed was a battling performance and grit and determination was eventually enough to get us a point.

We won't know until the end of the season how important that will be but it felt good immediately after the game.

The service to the front lads was poor all game but as previously stated the work-rate stayed high.

When the equaliser came it was Brendan McDaid who took advantage of a kind bounce to volley home.
