Academy U16's v Sheffield Wednesday

On 25th January, a Llandudno U16 Academy side took on a Development side from Sheffield Wednesday at Maesdu Park.

The game was an excellent spectacle of talent played in difficult conditions and was the first of what we hope to be an ongoing relationship with the Yorkshire club.

Our young lads ran out 3-2 winners on the night, with goals from Dean Seager, Matty Jones & Ryan Stewart all coming in the first half meaning that we enjoyed a half time lead of 3-0.

The second half brought about some changes in personnel along with the strong head wind and the experience of the professional outfit got them right back in the game by the time the whistle blew.

Our squad coached by first teamer Sean Eardley and ex Llandudno player (currently at Barrow) Mike Pearson was (in no particular order):

The reason for this little "look back" to this game is that today, through the post we received a copy of a recent Sheffield Wednesday first team programme in which the boys and the club had a mention along with a group photo from the evening.

We thought this was an excellent touch by them and wanted once again to thank them for bringing over their team and we look forward to seeing them again in the future.
