Time for another round up before the News Department gets overwhelmed (again).

1st a quick look back: As well as success on the rugby field, beating our old rivals the Gladiators, there have been a number of off field goings on.

12 January Saw the launch of Sport Wales consultation – My Welsh Sport #mywelshsport a series of events across Wales looking at how to encourage more people into sport. The 1st speakers were Richard Evans and Gwilym Lewis representing the Llanelli Warriors and you can see them in this video HERE

On January 14th after the match with the Swansea Gladiators we had the honour of presenting the Swansea Gladiators with the ARI Shield for their performances in 2016/17. The Gladiators showed what can be achieved, playing 25 matches as well as some tournaments across the season.
Congratulations to them, rest assured we hope to regain the trophy.

The club was well represented at the funeral of David Evans, the former prop laid to rest at Ferryside. Nice to see a photo of him playing for the Warriors on the order of service.

We have held the 1st Discos and curry nights of the year and they were both again successful. We would like to thank all who came along and supported these events. The next disco is on Valentine’s day! Other dates are listed below

Please also note that we will have been given a slot for regular shows at the Selwyn Samuel Centre in Llanelli. We have the dates and more details nearer the time.

Last night (Friday) Gwilym represented the Warriors when he was invited as a guest of the WRU at the Disability Sport Wales Awards dinner. An inspiring evening it was also a good opportunity for networking, look out for some guest appearances at training. Thanks to Greg Woods of the WRU for the invite.

A first visit to Ferryside is followed by tour, a trip to London Welsh RFC which promises to be a massive day out. The London Welsh side we play is set to feature former Ospreys stalwart Cai Griffiths while the Charitable XV V London Welsh XV match will have a host of famous names.

Then one of the season highlights - a trip to Cefneithin, Trinity students coming to Burry Port and a 1st fixture with Rhiwbina on Super Saturday

Membership is now due and this season’s members t shirt has been released, check the attached album.

Burry Port are holding a series of fundraising events as they look to "Buy Our Club"HERE which includes a Stars in Their Eyes night (Sunday 31st March) in which the Warriors will be entering an act - any ideas please let us know.

Finally back in the summer, Warriors sponsor Roy RDH Davies donated the club’s jerseys to our Samoan opponents and agreed to replace them this season so we are now looking for additional sponsors for this kit. We are very pleased to announce that alongside Roy Davies Haulage, SHUFFELBOTTOMS of Cross Hands have come onboard as main sponsors. Welcome to the Warriors family. Still to be decided: A special match in the summer featuring some famous rugby names. The date for the Warriors 7s and the final date for the 3rd leg of the Origin Cup.
