Just another half
On Saturday MHC members old and young gathered to mark Derek Ansdell's retirement from playing. Derek joined Marlow Hockey Club in 1966 and has played almost continuously since then - just 52 years! Derek has been an incredible member and contributor to Marlow Hockey Club not just as a player but also as 1st XI Captain from 1972 - 1978 and Club Chairman 1978 - 1989. Derek wrote a chapter of the Centenary Book, 1966 - 1989, and played for the Strollers for the best part of 30 years. He won the Player of the Season in 2017!
Derek is an Honorary Life Member and will continue to pop down to the club. If you see him, please buy him another half
