Marlow Crash out

By

A crazy twenty second half minutes in which they conceded five goals saw Marlow dumped out of the BTC Cup

Marlow United’s topsy turvey season continued as they crashed out of the BTC league cup at the quarter final stage shipping six goals to a rampant Woodcote team.
Fielding a much changed team from last week’s successful Berks and Bucks cup game United shaded the early stages of the game, Nicol seeing his headed effort ruled out for offside in the first minute.
The visitors created a number of chances with Thomas missing two good opportunities and they were made to pay for those misses as the half drew to a close with Woodcotes Dillon firing home from long range to put the hosts a goal to the good at half time.
The game was turned on its head in a crazy twenty minute spell as United conceded five goals in quick succession commencing in the fifty fifth minute and although they pulled a goal back through Catalin Woodcote hit back immediately to restore their four goal advantage, adding a sixth before Namyslack completed the scoring with a second for Marlow following good work by Sutherland.
The only bright spot in an otherwise disappointing day for United were the chances they continued to create but manager Matt Letts has a big job in raising the team for the semi final of the Berks and Bucks Cup this Saturday against high flying Newport Pagnell Reserves.
