Every effort was made by all the committee member to make sure that we had covered all avenues for this game. Rumours over the last two weeks that there would be a large crowd present for this game.
All the hard work around the pitch was done, and it was now down to the game.
Losing Callum Davidson in the warm up due to a bruised ankle mean we started the game 4-4-2.
As it got closer to the start of the game the crowd started to get bigger.. The usual locals were there, a few ground hoppers and loads from all over the area that had come to see if Boded would get the 3 points needed to win the Gwynedd League. As this was a very important match the NWCFA had supplied 2 neutral linesman.
From the off we would know that Bodedern were going to be up for it. The first ten-fifteen minutes Bodedern were on edge as they knew that they had to keep their heads on the game and not let the nerves get the better of them, as the game went on Bodedern started to settle and both teams were battling for the opening but it was still nil nil. Gethin Davies and Dave Roberts working hard in midfield to try and close everything down and Tom Scorer and Tom Parry keeping the Boded strikers quiet.
On 30mins Bodedern scored the important goal that settled them down.
For the final 15 mins of the 1st half it was a high temp battle with both teams closing each other down.
Half Time - Menai Bridge Tigers 0 - 1 Bodedern
In the second half Bodedern came out and wanted more goals to settle their nerves, on 52 mins the scored there second.
We created a couple of half chances when Guy Hughes and Dion Williams tested the Bodedern keeper.
The tigers continued to play the football they have played all season, but the majority of the players had played 8 games in less than 4 weeks and this was now starting to show as Bodedern opened us up and scored two more goals.
Full Time Menai Bridge Tigers 0 - 4 Bodedern
Man of the Match - Tom Parry
The club would like to congratulate Ricky and the rest of the lads at Bodedern Ath on winning the Gwynedd League and wish them all the best for next season in Welsh Alliance 2.
over the next couple of days a full rundown of the stats will be uploaded onto the website and a season review by Sean Brett
