After losing on Saturday the team knew today was going to be another massive test.
We welcomed Lance Williams and Andy Clarke into the squad for the 1st time this season.
The lads started strongly and Lance Williams was unlucky with a shot that the Bont keeper made a great safe from. On 12 mins a long kick from Dave Clarke landed at the feet of Dave Baston and from all of 35 yards he smashed a half volley that had the bont keeper been and the ball smashed against the cross bar and Elliott Parry Jones was unlucky to see the rebound go the wrong side of the post.
on 17 mins a corner for Bontnewydd bounced about in the box and fell to their striker who put the ball in the net.
The lads continued to play some great football, but were hit with a sucker punch on 22 mins when bontnewydd broke clear and made it 2 -0.
To be far on the lads with everything going against them .. the lads kept their heads up and were rewards on 37 mins when the bont keeper couldnt keep hold of a fierce shot from Lance Williams and Dave Baston was the 1st to react and smash the ball into the back of the net.
on 40 mins a late tackle on Guy Hughes about 25 yards out gave Lance Williams a chance to test the keeper and with his sweet right peg bend the ball around the wall and into the onion bag... game on...
half time Bontnewydd 2 - 2 Menai Bridge Tigers
The tigers continued with the pressing game and were starting to control the game.
57 mins Dave Baston - replaced by Andy Clarke --- TWAT OF THE SEASON MOMENT HERE - Andy ran on the pitch with his top on back to front.
67 mins Elliott Parry-Jones replaced by Jason Scott.
69 mins a clear foul on halfway line against Gethin Davies was waved away by the ref and Bontnewydd scored, not sure when a forearm to the back of the head has not been a free kick.
We pressed and pressed for an equalizer but then a 50/50 that was fair attempt of both players and the ref pointed for a free kick to Bontnewydd and low and behold the ball gets played into the box and bont scored a 4th totally against the run of play.
every 50/50 decision was going Bontnewydd's way and even their players weren't sure of the decision.
On 89 mins a cross into the box and Gethin Davies was 1st to react and place a firm header past the keeper.

I always try and be a honest with these match reports.. We deserved at least a point tonight but when simple decision go against you the hill your climbing looks and feels a lot steeper, but the effort the lads have given over the last few games has been nothing less than 110% and with all the injuries we have had, the international break will give us time to regroup.
