Menston Rangers win LUFC Academy Cup

By Jamie Taylor

Rangers receive positive feedback on attitude, behaviour and style of play from LUFC staff in tournament win..

Menston Rangers continued their good form, aligned with a positive and respectful approach to the game to win the Leeds United Academy tournament in Bradford. Rangers remained unbeaten despite playing some challenging opponents like Hunslet Greens, Guiseley Blues and Team Dynamo.

There were some contrasting styles on display, with the GJL sides being very direct in their play, but Rangers stood up well and kept believing in the game being played on the floor, rather than the sky!

Some quick, composed football was played despite a lot of physical pressure and the feedback from the LUFC staff was very encouraging on the character of our players and their attitude to others. That has to be the number one objective.

Rangers success came from 2 wins and 2 draws, with only a free kick goal conceded by Alex T and the squad.

The club should be very proud of this group and all the u12s who continue to show a willingness to learn and develop and are a credit to the club.
