The two bottom teams in the Premier Division met at Imber Court with both teams desperate for the 3 points as they both strive to get out of the bottom four. The Met had two new signings making their debuts as Roman Michael-Percil returned to the club from Dulwich and Lloyd Maklin joined from Hayes & Yeading.
It was the later that opened the scoring following a good header from Mekhail McLaughlan that put Michael-Percil clear who's cross shot was slotted home by Maklin to give the Met a 1-0 half time lead.
The Met still maintained the greater share of possession in the 2nd half but Grays were awarded a penalty after McLaughlan was judged to have handled in the box and received a yellow card in the process. The penalty was converted by Adeyinka Cole to bring the scores level on 80 minutes. The Met bounced back to retake the lead after Ola Sogbanmu prodded home from close range with 5 minutes to go. Substitute Charlie Collins made certain of the win by scoring a third in stoppage time and secure a valuable 3 points.
With no mid-week game the Met will be looking to make it back to back wins next Saturdaywhen they make the tough trip to Billericay.
