Whilst there was plenty of effort, today's performance lacked both intensity and composure.
Morley trailed 17 -7 at Half Time thanks to a combination of the wind, a lacklustre forward pack, a malfunctioning line out and consistently falling foul of the referee. The lads appeared to be get frustrated with themselves and ruined several positive situations by trying to go for the impossible pass or offload when they would have been better served going to ground and recycling the ball.
A try in the opening minutes of the 2nd half seemed to raise spirits and a spell of good play saw Morley dominate for 20 minutes and take a match winning 33-22 lead. Harrogate scored with the last play of the game to make the scoreline close.
So, a win for Morley but a much better performance will be required next week if the lads are to progress further in the cup.
