Director of Football and General Manager sought in new structure

Director of Football

Following a period of success and relegation from the Isthmian Bostick North League, the club has concluded that to move forward in a sustainable, co-ordinated and consistent way the position of Director of Football is required. This senior part-time position will be responsible for overall football operations and will report directly to the chairman.

Job Specification

  • Provide strategic direction, leadership, oversight and management of all football operations.
  • Plan, implement and manage the coaching programmes across all senior and junior teams.
  • Recruit all key management positions required to complete an overall management structure.
  • Develop commercial opportunities in football in conjunction with the newly appointed General Manager.
  • Build a culture of excellence, innovation and learning that supports player development.
  • Prepare, manage and monitor the football budget.
  • Evaluate and monitor progress against strategic direction.
  • Manage effective coach continued professional development across all football management staff.
  • Target competitive success in all senior football teams, with a remit of producing local talent through our junior sides.
  • Support coaching and match day organisation, providing input at all senior and junior levels.
  • Liaise with club Fixture Secretary
  • Lead, co-ordinate and drive the delivery of support services (medical, recruitment and analysis).
  • Develop a comprehensive local player scouting system.
  • Work proactively to recruit high level senior players.
  • Help co-ordinate a clear media channel to local press and social media relating to football operations.

Person Specification

  • Experience of managing and coaching in a senior and junior environment
  • Proven experience in the development of young players
  • Experience in delivering commercial projects in football
  • The ability to motivate and empower a team to delivery performance outcomes
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of current coaching and scouting processes
  • IT skills necessary for analysis, report writing and general communication
  • Desirable Qualifications FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football qualification or equivalent

General Manager

Following the resignation of the Secretary during last season’s campaign the club is looking to restructure the administration, media and sponsorship roles under a new position of General Manager. This senior part-time position will be responsible for all off-pitch activities and will report directly to the chairman.

Job Specification

  • Provide strategic direction, leadership, oversight and management of all off-pitch operations.
  • Plan and implement a structure to ensure off-pitch structures operate efficiently.
  • Boost the profile of the club in both the local community and across Norwich and Norfolk.
  • Develop commercial opportunities through football in conjunction with the newly appointed Director of Football.
  • Identify new and existing sponsorship opportunites that will bring in a valuable income stream to support the football operation.
  • Work with existing volunteers and identify potential new v olunteers to ensure the off-pitch operations run smoothly.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of the volunteers to ensure their time and efforts are optimised.
  • Ensure that the club meets the requirements of the FA, the Norfolk FA and the leagues we compete in regarding registrations, discipline, advertising etc.
  • Build a culture of excellence, innovation and learning that supports the football operation.
  • Liaise with the Director of Football to ensure all contracts and registration paperwork is completed quickly and as smoothly as possible.
  • Help develop the existing website and social media channels, investigate further social media channels, maintain current media relationship as well as exploring new opportunites.
  • Liaise closely with the football operation to create news content for circulation.
  • Organisation of social/fund raising events.

Person Specification

  • The ability to motivate and empower a team to delivery performance outcomes
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of football administration processes.
  • IT skills to enable effective communication with internal and external parties.
  • Experience in delivering sponsorship opportunities providing an income stream.
