Alex Low stood out in the centre of defence and it was notable when he was beaten in the air in the final stages as it was the first time in the game it had happened.
Black is delighted with the way the squad is coming together ahead of the upcoming Evo-Stik League season and he singled out Low for praise, telling NonLeagueYorkshire that he wouldn’t have looked out of place playing for opponents BPA.
Black continued by saying he had spoken to BPA manager at the weekend and was told the National League North side would be bringing a strong squad and that proved to be the case “for us to compete, and compete really well, against them is very pleasing for us.”
The Reds are next in action on Thurday at NCEL side Rossington Main before travelling to Hemsworth Miners Welfare on Saturday to play for the Steve Kelly Memorial trophy, Hamsworth have today announced half price admission for that game.
