RGC announce the signing of Billy McBryde, son of Wales Assistant Coach, Robin McBryde.

RGC are delighted to announce the signing of fly-half Billy McBryde. He will be familiar with many, being the son of Bangor born Wales Assistant Coach Robin McBryde. The 21 year old has come through the Scarlets and Llanelli and of course wore the RGC shirt against Wales, and he has also represented Wales at U16/18/20s and 7s.

Head Coach Mark Jones is delighted with the addition “We are really pleased to have a player of Billy’s experience on board, and it is great not only for north Wales but also welsh rugby. A number of clubs were keen on signing him, not only here but across the border as well. He has joined us based on what we can offer in regards to support from the coaching staff, and the set up behind RGC as he turned down far more financially rewarding packages from cubs in Wales and England…so it shows his character and on field ambition which also fits in with our values as a group.”

“Knowing Billy, he has a great character and will bring that work ethic to RGC, much like Jacob Botica. The set up here allows Billy a chance to get back into a set-up and system that will hopefully help him progress further in the game.”

“If you look at our past couple of 10s, James Lang moved on the professional rugby, and his replacement Jacob Botica has just done the same. We have gained an experienced high level player, and we are looking forward to having him on board.”
