Parkgate travelled to Clipstone in search of a victory as they try to avoid relegation.
A lively start saw John Lufudu make several runs into the Clipstone penalty area but without success. A Josh Moore free kick after 7 minutes forced a fine save from the home keeper. The first 30 minutes saw Parkgate lay siege to the Clipstone goal, and numerous chances went begging. It was 39 minutes before Clipstone had an effort on goal, Michael Trench saw his header cleared of the line. Amazingly it was 0-0 at the break yet Parkgate deserved more.
The second half saw Parkgate again in the ascendancy with Josh Moore seeing his 47th minute effort clear the bar. Sam Foulds then volleyed over on 54 minutes. The game appeared to turn for Parkgate on 64 minutes when a handball on the line saw Chris Fawcus sent off and a penalty for the visitors. Up stepped Josh Shelton, his spot kick was well saved by Steve Hernandez. As the game wore on more chances were created but not taken, with Jake Ashton not being able to take advantage in a one on one with Steve Hernandez. A minute later Jake Ashton became super sub as he calmly slotted the ball home from close range. Victory was now assured to give Parkgate all three points which were thoroughly deserved.
