Early goal from Casey makes it four from four
A tough game played on a difficult pitch saw The Scholars battle to their fourth win in succession. An early goal form in form Eoin Casey was enough to give the visitors the points despite surviving late pressure and a disallowed 'goal' for The Planters.
Bar started brightly with a flowing move involving Eoin Casey, Lee O'Leary and new signing Ben Ward-Cochrane on his debut after his move from Enfield Town FC, which ended with Andy Lomas firing over the top with his famed right foot.
Moments later a Billy Adcock free kick followed into the crowd as Sean Grace headed over as Bar continued the pressure.
With just ten minutes gone the lively Sandro Costa broke down the left to set up Casey but his shot was easily dealt with by the Norwich 'keeper.
Two minutes later and Potters Bar were in front. George Nicholas drove down the right, then a back flick from Ben Ward-Cochrane found Eoin Casey in the box and the in form front man netted for his 25th goal of the season. 1-0
Approaching the half hour debutant Ben Ward-Cochrane found himself in the clear but was denied by a defenders block.
The half ended with the visitors still on the attack as Chris Doyle crossed only for the 'keeper to take with Ward-Cochrane waiting to strike.
The Second half saw the game become bogged down with few chances for either side and a spate of bookings for Norwich as the game became increasingly frustrated at their lack of opportunities. Most of the scarce chances fell to The Scholars and the returning Ben Goode in the visitors goal had a relatively uneventful reintroduction after a long lay-off.
The best chances of the half fell to Sandro Costa who shot over following good work by Ward-Cochrane who himself fired wide after being freed by a fine ball from Lee O'Leary.
With the game deep into time added on it looked as though The Scholars hard work had been undone as Norwich broke down the right to put the ball in the net only for the celebrating Planters to turn and see the raised flag of the assistant referee.
A hard fought win away from home in a game mainly memorable for the return of Ben Goode, a fine debut for Ben Ward-Cochrane and the performance of Man of the Match Lee O'Leary
