Redbridge were looking to bounce back from FA Vase disappointment as they hosted West Essex on a cold night at the Oakside.
Lewi Greene and Vlad Sighiartau returned to the side whilst Remi Nelson was playing in the number 10 role .
The first chance of the match fell to the home side after Sighiartau played a lovely ball through into the path of Remi Nelson but he could only proceed to shoot at Jack Coker who was able to produce the save.
At the other end Greg Frerericks then played through a ball which Cameron Gray ran onto. Whilst all the Redbridge players were appealing for an offside decision Cameron Gray continued his run towards goal but with just Lewis Green to beat he skewed his effort high over the bar. It was certainly a massive let off for the home side.
The away side did however take the lead on 19 mins when a poor clearance from a Redbridge defender presented the ball straight at Izzy Ogedi-Uzokwe who slotted home from close range.
Redbridge attacked once more and a Sighiartau flick on found Larry Asare in space but he failed to control the ball and allowed for a defender to get back and clear for the corner.
Terrell Miller then broke free down the right but took the wrong decision in trying to shoot when he had players in the middle better placed and could only find the side netting.
Redbridge were getting most of their joy down the flanks through their wide players however the end product seemed to be lacking.
West Essex then had a great opportunity to increase their lead when at first Samraj Gill's shot was well blocked before the ball was pulled back across goal for Ogedi-Uzokwe who failed to hit the target from inside the box as Redbridge once again rode their luck.
The second period began with the away side continuing to press when from a corner the ball was first headed off the line before Ogedi-Uzokwe hit the outside of a post.
At the other end an improved home side were beginning to look more lively and a ball over the top found Miller who crossed looking for substitute Tyrone Scarlett in the middle but thr cross evaded him.
Scarlett and fellow sub Tommie Turner had further attempts whilst Larry Asare curled an effort wide of the post.
West Essex substitute Michael Mignot then found himself through on goal but Greene in goal stuck out a foot and made the save.
Redbridge thought they had the equaliser when Patrick Duggan hit a looping effort which flew over Coker and bounced onto the bar and down onto the goal line, no VAR here!!
Then with virtually the last kick of the game Mignot grabbed his sides second with a superbly taken goal.
He firstly tried to take the ball past Greene who forced him out wide but then had time to look up and curl a sublime lob into the far top corner of the net.
It sealed a miserable night for the home side who remain near the bottom of the table.
