Rhostyllen made it two wins from two in the teams new League on Tuesday Night. New signing Sean Merryweather started the game whilst fellow new signing Wil Roberts started on the bench.
It was a game that the Away side controlled from the start, Matty Wills starting brightly with a fierce strike before having a goal of the season contender harshly ruled out for handball. They were in front however after 25 minutes when a great free kick was delivered to the back post by Steven Jones and on hand was Lewis Clamp to head home. It was 2-0 on 44 minutes when Matty Williams and Lewis Clamp played some neat football in the box before Clamp slotted home.
2-0 to Rhostyllen at half time in a game they had bossed.
Joshua Jones made a fine save in the second half to keep the away side on their toes. Few chances were created until the introduction of Niall Rooney caused the home side problems. Rooney's direct running saw him cut into the box and play the ball across goal where Matty Williams slid in to put the Village 3-0 to the good. Williams hadn't finished there when following a great through ball by Rooney saw him slot home to make it 4-0 and takes Matty's tally to 3 goals in two game.
Another Win for Rhostyllen who take on Llangollen in the Welsh Cup on Saturday.
