Goodbye 2014 - It Can't Get Any Worse

By

As the year comes to an end Seaford Town were hoping to put an end to one of the worst runs in the National Football Pyramid, but a 0-2 defeat at home to rivals Saltdean United left them languishing at the foot of the Macron Sussex County League Division Two without a single point to their name.
They now have 20 successive defeats since the season kicked off in August, a record only beaten by Stewarts and Lloyd F.C. from the United Counties League, who also remain pointless but after 23 games. Hopefully Town will be able to find a point before they catch them up.
Unfortunately Town’s problems have not just been this season, during 2014 they have played a total of 37 games with only 1 win and a draw to show for their efforts and the only way for them in the New Year is up!
The disappointment of the latest defeat was plain to see, with Saltdean just 1 place but 11 points ahead of them a victory was a must. Sadly for them it never happened with the visitors opening the scoring after 14 minutes through former Seaford player Terry Gacias. Braden Dawes added the second 11 minutes from time to round off a miserable year for the hosts.
January is set to be a busy one at the Crouch with Mile Oak the visitors on Saturday in the League, then 7 days later they return for a Division Two cup tie and they are followed by Rustington a week later.
Ben Barnett is urgently searching for quality additions to his squad but with the side in its current position they are proving hard to find.
The Club would like to wish all their sponsors and supporters for the support during the last 12 months and hope they can bring them some joy in 2015.
