Shepshed were at home for only the second time this season on a Saturday against second bottom Wolverhampton Sporting Community F.C. a game Shepshed really had to win in order to stop themselves being dragged into the bottom four places of the league.

However it was Wolverhampton who started the brighter creating four good chances with Shepshed goalkeeper Brandon Ganley having to make a couple of good saves along with a couple of shots one was cleared by the defence and the other just going wide. But in the 14th minute Wolverhampton took the lead from a corner the ball was cleared by the Shepshed defence only to be returned into the box for Josh Cooke to back heal the ball into the net.Shepshed created their first real chance of the game when a shot from Karl Whymark was just off target but in the 21st minute Shepshed made it 1 - 1 with Wolverhampton losing the ball just outside the penalty area Shepshed played a nice one two and it was Sam Moore who calmly slotted the ball home to bring the scores level. Both teams created chances as Sam Moore had another shot that hit the post then in the 42nd Minute Shepshed took the lead when they were awarded a penalty and up stepped Karl Whymark who slotted the ball home to make the score 2-1 to Shepshed and that's how it stayed till Half Time Shepshed having more ball possession but Wolverhampton having more shots on target Six to Shepsheds Three.
Both teams started well but it was Shepshed who had the first chance of the half when Sean Phillips had a shot saved by Wolverhampton Goalkeeper Reece Jeavons then in the 60th Minute there was a debut goal for Josh Thomas after a cross from the right from Matt Melbourne went straight through the Wolverhampton defence to Thomas who then beat the Wolverhamptons number two Pasekka Kargbo he shot towards the goal only for the ball to be slightly deflected of Wolverhamptons number 3 Stefan Cameron the ball ending up in the right hand corner of the Wolverhampton net to put Shepshed 3 - 1 up.Wolverhampton tried to get back into the game when in the 65th minute they had a shot saved by Ganley and in the 68th minute they had another shot on target but it was easily cleared by the Shepshed defence.Shepshed had a further three good chances but they were brilliantly saved by Wolverhampton keeper Jeavons who kept out a long range effort from Melbourne and an header from Liam Hurst witch was tipped over the bar then from a corner he save another header on the line from Shepsheds Shaun Doy then in the 71st minute Shepshed rapped up the game when a cross from Josh Thomas found the head of Melbourne who rose above the Wolverhampton defence to head the ball home making the 4 - 1 to Shepshed.Wolverhampton had a further to shots on goal but they easily dealt with by the Shepshed Goalkeeper Ganley and as the 90 minutes were up it was Shepshed who were celebrating with their first home league win of the season. This was not a classic by all means as Shepshed had to battle throughout the match but 3 goals in an 11 minute spell sealed the game for Shepshed who this week have two Away games starting on 26.9.2018 in The League Cup at GNP Sports and on the 29.9.2018 they are back in League Action at Lye Town.
