WILLIAMS DOUBLE NOT ENOUGH AS SHIREBROOK BEATEN BY SELBY

By

2 Goals from Dan Williams were not enough as Shirebrook were beaten by Selby Town 4-2

MOTM Williams

The game started off at a fast pace with the first goal of the game arriving in the 6th minute when Danny Williams was played in 1 on 1 with the Selby keeper and made no mistake to give Shriebrook the lead however that lead only lasted a minute as Selby were on level terms when Joseph Dale broke down the left and slotted the ball past Jamie Dean in the Shirebrook net and before Shirebrook knew it they were behind as Dale grabbed his 2nd of the game in the 13th minute with Shirebrook now chasing the game and committing men forward there were plenty of gaps at the back and Shirebrook had goalkeeper Jamie Dean to thank for it only being 2 goals down as he pulled off a number of saves to keep Shirebrook in the game but as the half was drawing to a close Danny Williams had a chance to send the teams in level but his shot went just wide of the far post

The second half started the same was as the first with Shirebrook back on level terms in the 50th minute Danny Williams was played in 1 on 1 with the Selby keeper and the result was they same as the first half and he leveled the scores the rest of the half went the same way as the first with Selby causing the Shirebrook defense all sorts of problems and again Shirebrook had goalkeeper Jamie Dean to thank for the scores staying level but in the 58th minute the home side were back the lead Ryan Gothard the man to get the goal and as the half went on Selby caused Shirebrook problem after problem but couldn't break through but as the game was drawing to a close the home side made sure of the points when after a defensive error Liam Flanagan scored the home side 4th of the game to cap off what had been a very very poor day at the office for Shirebrook
